Now, please don't faint at your desk... you could hit your head! I know it has been a long time since I had anything exciting to share, especially a finished pair of socks. I am very excited about it!
This is a pattern I put together myself, using Grayce's Plain and Fancy Yarn, Margene's heels, Sharon's drawstring toes and the inspiration of seeing Garter Rib in this fun book from Charlene. I DO get by with a little help from my friends!
I am pretty excited about making socks in heavier yarns... my hands survived, and I like nice, thick socks!
I have a few pairs of socks lined up in the queue, including this free pattern (for Brown Sheep Nature spun sport weight), the Ravelry Ryan Eejits mystery sock (which will be in worsted), that goes along with the Morganna Mystery Shawl I am working on (done with Clue #1 and waiting for Clue #2!), and the stripy socks I mentioned a few weeks back (another worsted pair). That should get me a nice wardrobe of hiking socks to see me through the summer, back into some darning (it happens!) and maybe out of love with socks again. However, I'm giving it a good go, intending to at least make myself that portion of my wardrobe, though I will leave the thinner socks to others!
