I am happy to say that my black Knitpicks Gloss version of last winter's popular Delicato mitts is finally finished!
This mitt is a lovely design and the only reason I didn't finish in the first place was that I was making the mitts specifically for a formal re-enactment dance, to go with an outfit I had ordered on Ebay; the seamstress got ill and couldn't fill the commitment and eventually I got my money refunded, but had to come up with something different to wear and didn't need these...
I think they will be going to DD for Christmas; actually, my hands are on the small side and they are a tiny bit too long on me, as this photo shows. Still, I would consider making the pattern again, for myself, someday. It is a lovely lace panel down the middle, highlighted by eyelet rib cuffs and trim. Need to whip up a fancy Christmas gift for a non-knitting friend? This might be the one.
There are two more months of 2007 and two more UFOs to unearth and finish off. While my dear friend Margene insists that projects are either fun, fast and done, or tossed aside, I am more easily distracted and have to come back to some and finish them when their season comes around again.... this KAL has been a boon to doing exactly that, getting stuff done!
